Marinade Ideas

Ingredients

  • For the Base Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • For the Curry Marinade:
  • 1/4 cup mango chutney
  • 2 tsp of curry powder
  • 3 chopped scallions
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • For the Oriental Marinade:
  • 3 tbs hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • For the Herb Honey Marinade:
  • 1 tbs chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbs chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tbs honey
  • 1 tbs chopped oregano
  • For the Southwestern Marinade:
  • 1 tbs chopped jalapeƱo peppers
  • 1 tbs chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbs chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
Here are some ideas for marinades that will give you meats or vegetables special flavors. Here is recipe for an all purpose base marinade as well as several flavor variations. Makes about 1 cup.

To make flavor variations just add the ingredients for your desire flavor profile to the base marinade. You may use these marinades on beef, poultry, pork lamb, fish or vegetables.
