Hot Mustard Horseradish Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs unsalted butter
  • 1 tbs flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbs beef or chicken stock
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp horseradish
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Hot and spicy this sauce is wonderful used with chicken, pork or beef. Makes 1 and 1/2 cups.


Directions:

  • Melt butter in a sauce pan.
  • Stir in flour and salt.
  • Gradually add water.
  • Add the stock, mustard, horseradish and sugar, and mix well
  • Cook using low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Allow to cool and let stand for several hours.
  • Serve.
