Basque Seafood Marinade

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 5 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
This is a Basque marinade that can be used for beef, chicken or lamb. It is also good for seafood.
Directions:
  • Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour over meat and allow to marinate for several hours or up to 8 hours.
  • May be used as a basting liquid while cooking meat.
