Hawaiian Kahlua Pork
Ingredients
5 lb pork butt roast | ||
2 tbs liquid smoke flavoring | ||
3 tsp kosher salt | ||
3 tsp fresh cracked black pepper | ||
1 tsp garlic powder | ||
1 tsp garlic powder |
This a Hawaiian version of pulled pork that is slow cooked in the oven. Serve with grilled pineapple, yams and poi.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Rub liquid smoke into the pork.
- Mix 1 and 1/2 of the salt, black pepper, garlic and onion power. Rub all over the pork.
- Wrap well in foil and seal completely.
- Place in a roasting pan.
- Cook in the oven at 325 degrees or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees. About 5 hours.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before shredding.
- Sprinkle the shredded meat with the remaining 1 tbs of salt.
