Blackberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2cups water
  • 1 and 1/2 pints of fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tbs corn starch
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
Perfect drizzled over cake, pie or ice cream.
  • Place water in a large saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  • Add berries and bring to a boil again.
  • In a small bowl mix sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • Stir this into the berries and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Allow to cool.
