Oven Barbecued St. Louis Ribs
Ingredients
3 lbs of St. Louis ribs | ||
1 (14oz) bottle of ketchup | ||
1 and 1/4 cups water | ||
1/4 cup vinegar | ||
3 tbs brown sugar | ||
1 tbs dry mustard | ||
3 tbs Worcestershire sauce | ||
2 tsp chili powder | ||
pinch of ground cloves | ||
2 tsp garlic powder | ||
2 tsp onion powder |
A St. Louis rib is a spare rib that has been trimmed to achieve an even compact appearance and a even cooking characteristic.
- Remove silver skin from the back of the ribs and cut them into serving sized pieces.
- Place them a baking pan and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
- Combine remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Spoon over ribs.
- Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
- Bake for an additional 1 and 1/2 hours or until tender.
