Dominican Sazon
Ingredients
3 medium onions, chopped | ||
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped | ||
1 red bell pepper, seeded ad chopped | ||
4 large cloves garlic, peeled and chopped | ||
1 tbs oregano | ||
1 cup chopped scallions, green and white parts | ||
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped | ||
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped | ||
1 tsp hot pepper sauce | ||
1 tbs paprika | ||
1 tbs paprika | ||
1 cup olive oil | ||
1/2 cup white vinegar | ||
kosher salt to taste |
This a variation of Sofrito and it is used to flavor stews, beans, rice and vegetables.
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a sauce pan and heat gently for 5 minutes.
- Cool and bottle, then refrigerate for future use.
