Fried Ripe Plantains

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe plantains
  • butter and or vegetable oil

When plantains are ripe their skins are black, but they still must be cooked before eating. Once they are cooked they are deliciously sweet.

Directions:

  • Cut off both ends of the plantains. Peel and halve legnthwise.
  • Slice the plantain halves in halves crosswise, making 12 slices in all.
  • Heat the butter and or oil in a large frying pan and saute the pieces until browned on both sides.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve.
