Fried Ripe Plantains
Ingredients
3 large ripe plantains | ||
butter and or vegetable oil |
When plantains are ripe their skins are black, but they still must be cooked before eating. Once they are cooked they are deliciously sweet.
Directions:
- Cut off both ends of the plantains. Peel and halve legnthwise.
- Slice the plantain halves in halves crosswise, making 12 slices in all.
- Heat the butter and or oil in a large frying pan and saute the pieces until browned on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and serve.
