Homemade Spiced Rum

Ingredients

1 vanilla bean pod, split
4 whole allspice
2 3 inch cinnamon sticks
2 whole star anise
1/2 tsp ground anise
4 whole cloves
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 liter gold rum
  • Pour off 1/2 cup of the rum to make room for the spices.
  • Place the vanilla bean, allspice, cinnamon sticks, anise and cloves in the bottle with rum
  • Store in a dark closet for at least 1 month. 2 month or more is better.
  • Shake gently once a week.
