Mediterranean Lamb Burgers
Ingredients
2 lbs ground lamb | ||
1/2 cup onion minced | ||
4 cloves garlic, minced | ||
1 tsp ground cinnamon | ||
1 tsp paprika | ||
1 tsp ground cumin | ||
1/2 tsp chili powder | ||
1/2 tsp ground coriander | ||
3 whole wheat pita rounds, cut in half | ||
3 cups romaine lettuce | ||
1/4 cup sour cream | ||
6 slices purple onion | ||
6 slices ripe tomato |
- Place the lamb in a large mixing bowl, then add the onion, garlic, cilantro, cinnamon, paprika, cumin, ground coriander, salt and pepper.
- Do not overwork the meat.
- Shape into 6 patties and grill for 4-6 minutes each side or until desired doneness is achieved.
- To serve place 1 patty in each pita half and arrange the lettuce,sour cream, onion and tomato on top.
- Alternatively you bake the patty’s in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes.
