Cheddar Cheese Canapes


  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 lb of bacon, cooked extra crisp and crumbled
  • crackers or wedges of rye bread
  • chives for garnish
This is great dish for an appetizer. Super simple and quick to prepare.


  • Saute the onions in the vegetable until tender. Drain away fat.
  • In a bowl combine the onions and the rest of the ingredients.
  • Spread on crackers or rye bread.
  • Broil until the cheese is bubbly. About 10 minutes.
