Pantry Essentials

This is a listing of ingredients that you should always have in your pantry. Also you should always have eggs, onions, garlic and potatoes and some frozen vegetables on hand. If you keep these essentials on hand you will be able to throw a meal together in a snap.

Seasonings and Stock:

  • Canned chicken and beef stock
  • Chicken, beef and vegetables bouillon cubes
  • Whole black peppercorns
  • Kosher salt
  • Chili flakes
  • Ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks (the sticks retain flavor longer)
  • Ground or whole cumin
  • Ground Coriander
  • Oregano
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Dried thyme
  • Paprika
  • Chili flakes
  • Ground Turmeric
Oils and Vinegars and Condiments:
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Canola oil
  • White wine vinegar
  • Whole grain mustard
  • Mustard powder
  • Harissa flour
  • Honey
  • Tomato Ketchup
  • Tomato paste
Rice Grains and Pasta:
  • Jasmine white rice (we recommend Jasmine because it has a better flavor and consistency)
  • Basmati rice
  • Aborio risotto rice
  • Couscous
  • Dried rice noodles
  • All purpose and whole wheat flour
  • Assorted dry pasta shapes
  • Lentils, yellow, red and green
  • Assorted dry beans
Canned and Jarred Products:
  • Capers
  • Olives, green and black
  • Jarred roasted red peppers
  • Canned anchovies
  • Canned Beans, cannelloni, Pinto, Black, Chick peas
  • Sun dried tomatoes
  • Canned solid white tuna in olive oil
  • Canned Italian plum Tomatoes
  • Canned chicken broth
  • Canned beef broth
Asian:
  • Soy sauce
  • Fish sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Chinese five spice powder
  • Rice wine (mirin)
  • Assorted dry noodles, Soba, rice etc.
