Classic Saffron Rice


  • 1 cup of jasmine rice
  • 1 and 1/2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tbs of butter
  • 1/2 small onion, finely minced
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world. It just takes a little to do a lot. This recipe is sure to become one of you favorites. Serves 4.
  • Place butter and minced onion in a medium saucepan.
  • Saute over medium heat until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the rice, saffron, stock and salt and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to simmer.
  • Cover and cook rice until liquid is absorbed. About 15 minutes.
