Puerto Rican Sazon
Ingredients
2 tbs kosher salt | ||
1 tbs ground coriander | ||
1 tbs ground annatto | ||
1 tbs garlic powder | ||
1 tsp MSG (optional) |
Sazon means “seasoning ” in Spanish. In Puerto Rico it also refers to a seasoned salt that is used everywhere in Puerto Rican cooking. The seasonings add not only flavor, but also a subtle orange hue to many dishes. There are many store brought versions but here is a version that you can make at home.
- Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container.
- Use to season food to taste.
