Hot Mustard Horseradish Sauce
Ingredients
2 tbs unsalted butter | ||
1 tbs flour | ||
1 tsp kosher salt | ||
1 cup water | ||
1 tbs beef or chicken stock | ||
1/3 cup Dijon mustard | ||
2 tsp horseradish | ||
2 tbs sugar | ||
1 tsp cayenne pepper |
Hot and spicy this sauce is wonderful used with chicken, pork or beef. Makes 1 and 1/2 cups.
- Melt butter in a sauce pan.
- Stir in flour and salt.
- Gradually add water.
- Add the stock, mustard, horseradish and sugar, and mix well
- Cook using low heat for 5 minutes.
- Allow to cool and let stand for several hours.
