Cheddar Cheese Sauce


  • 4 tbs butter
  • 1/4 cup sifted flour
  • 2 and 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 lb of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded. (more if you like it thicker or less if you like it thinner)

This is a sauce that you can use in Mac and cheese, atop English muffins, over casseroles or over mixed vegetables.

  • Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan over low heat or you may use a double boiler.
  • Stir until cheese melts and ingredients are combined.
