Chinese Hot Mustard


  • 1/2 cup dry mustard
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1/8 tsp canola oil
This homemade version of hot mustard is much better than the stuff in those little plastic packets.
It is great with fried foods, egg rolls and shrimp.

  • Place mustard in a bowl.
  • Gradually stir in cold water until smooth.
  • Stir in oil.
  • Cover and let stand for 1 hour to allow the flavors to mellow.
  • Use immediately or transfer to a small jar, cover and refrigerate for up to a month.
