Oven Barbecued St. Louis Ribs


  • 3 lbs of St. Louis ribs
  • 1 (14oz) bottle of ketchup
  • 1 and 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tbs dry mustard
  • 3 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • pinch of ground cloves
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
A St. Louis rib is a spare rib that has been trimmed to achieve an even compact appearance and a even cooking characteristic.
  • Remove silver skin from the back of the ribs and cut them into serving sized pieces.
  • Place them a baking pan and bake in  a preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
  • Combine remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Spoon over ribs.
  • Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
  • Bake for an additional 1 and 1/2 hours or until tender.
