Brown and Wild Rice
|2 and 1/2 cups water|
|1 cup brown rice|
|1/4 cup wild rice|
|1/4 cup slivered almonds|
|1/4 cup scallions, chopped|
|1 tbs butter|
|kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste|
- In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil, add the rice and stir once.
- Reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook rice until all the water is absorbed. About 40 minutes.
- Saute almonds and scallions in butter and add to cooked rice.
- Season with salt and pepper.
