Brown and Wild Rice


  • 2 and 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1/4 cup wild rice
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup scallions, chopped
  • 1 tbs butter
  • kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil, add the rice and stir once.
  • Reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook rice until all the water is absorbed. About 40 minutes.
  • Saute almonds and scallions in butter and add to cooked rice.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
