French Plum Cake

  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 7 plums pitted and cut in half
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  • Add the cinnamon, flour and salt and mix well.
  • Pour into a greased 9 inch square pan.
  • Toss the plums with sugar.
  • Arrange the plum halves in rows on top of the cake.
  • Bake cake for 45 minutes.
