Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches


  • 6 slices of Italian bread, thinly sliced, crusts removed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (8oz) jar of roasted red peppers
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg beaten
  • olive oil
  • Soak the bread in the milk briefly. Do not over soak.
  • Place 1 slice of cheese on top of each bread slice,  then several roasted red peppers.Then add a slice of bread to the top.
  • Dip each bread slice gently into the flour, then into the beaten egg.
  • Put 3/4 inch of oil in a heavy saute pan and using medium high heat.
  • Cook the sandwiches until they are golden brown on each side, turning once.
