Maryland Steamed Blue Crabs
Ingredients
1 cup Old Bay seasoning | ||
3 cups white vinegar | ||
1/4 cup black pepper | ||
3 cups beer | ||
3 dozen live Maryland blue crabs |
This is the Maryland way.
Directions:
- Add the beer and vinegar to a large stock pot with a rack and tight fitting lid
- Add the crabs in layers and season each layer with black pepper and Old Bay seasoning.
- Bring the beer and vinegar to a boil and steam the crabs for 20-30 minutes.
- Serve hot.
