Asian Chili Marinade


  • 4 tbs Asian chili paste
  • 3 tbs Asian chili powder
  • 2 tbs sake or Mirin
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 1/2 white onion, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbs maple syrup
  • 2 tbs sesame Oil
  • kosher salt and black pepper to taste

This is a versatile marinade that can be used for chicken, beef or pork. Combine the meat of choice with the marinade the place in the refrigerator, covered for several hours. You may also use this marinade as a glaze to brush over meats before grilling.

  • Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well and allow to sit for 1 hour before using.
  • Use as a marinade or glazing sauce.
