Stuffed Golden Mushrooms
Ingredients
1 lb large button mushrooms | ||
1/4 cup celery, chopped | ||
1/4 cup onion, chopped | ||
3 tbs butter | ||
1 tsp kosher salt | ||
1 tsp marjoram leaves | ||
1 tsp black pepper | ||
1 tsp ground turmeric | ||
2 cups plain bread crumbs | ||
1-2 tbs olive oil | ||
1 tbs butter |
Directions:
- Remove the stems from the mushrooms. Chop the stems finely.
- Add butter and olive oil to a saute pan and using medium heat add the mushroom stems, celery, and onions. Cook until mushrooms are tender.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the pan and combine well. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once mixture has cooled slightly, fill the mushroom caps with the stuffing mixture.
- Place the mushrooms, filling side up on a foil lined baking sheet
- Bake mushrooms in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until slightly golden.
- Makes about 20 appetizers.
