Stuffed Golden Mushrooms


  • 1 lb large button mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp marjoram leaves
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 cups plain bread crumbs
  • 1-2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs butter


  • Remove the stems from the mushrooms. Chop the stems finely.
  • Add butter and olive oil to a saute pan and using medium heat add the mushroom stems, celery, and onions. Cook until mushrooms are tender.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the pan and combine well. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Once mixture has cooled slightly, fill the mushroom caps with the stuffing mixture.
  • Place the mushrooms, filling side up on a foil lined baking ¬†sheet
  • Bake mushrooms in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until slightly golden.
  • Makes about 20 appetizers.
