Vietnamese Nuoc Cham Dipping Sauce


  • 3 tbs lime juice
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 ┬ácup water
  • 2 and 1/2 tbs fish sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Thai chilies, seeded and chopped
  • optional: cilantro and or mint leaves

This is a dipping that is commonly used in Vietnam to dip spring rolls and the like.

  • Combine the lime juice, sugar and water, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
  • Add the fish sauce, garlic, chilies and cilantro and mint if using.
  • Taste and adjust flavors as desired.
