Blackening Spice
Ingredients
2 tsp onion powder | ||
2 tsp oregano | ||
2 tsp thyme | ||
2 tsp black pepper | ||
2 tsp white pepper | ||
2 tsp cayenne pepper | ||
2 tsp salt | ||
4 tsp paprika | ||
2 tsp garlic powder |
This is a spice mixture that was developed in Louisiana particularity for red fish, however it is also delicious when used with beef, chicken or pork. This recipe may be doubled or tripled.
- Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well.
- Dredge meat, fish or poultry in the seasoning mix, knocking off excess.
- Cook the meat, fish or poultry in a cast iron pan using high heat for about 2-3 minutes per side or until desired doneness is achieved.
- Recipe may be doubled or tripled.
