Stilton Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Prosciutto
- 1 lb pitted dates
- 6 oz Stilton cheese
- 1/2 lb thin slices of prosciutto ( about 35 3 inch slices) more or less)
This is salty, sweet and savory appetizer that is sure to become a hit at a party or gathering. It uses the sweetness of dates the savory notes of Stilton cheese and the saltiness of prosciutto.
- Make a lengthwise slit in each date and fill each cavity with about 1/2 tsp of Stilton, then press them close.
- Wrap each date in a slice of prosciutto then place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until the prosciutto is crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Serve with toothpicks.
