Caramelized Onions


  • 3 lbs onions
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 tbs brown sugar


  • Separate onions into rings.
  • Add onions to a large saute pan along with the butter and brown sugar.
  • Cook using low heat for about 1 hour or until onions are browned.
  • The browned onions can be used as a base for French onion soup.
