Cast Iron Buttermilk Corn Bread
|1 1/2 cups cornmeal|
|1/2 cup flour|
|1/4 cup vegetable oil or shortening|
|1 1/2 cups buttermmilk|
|2 tsp baking powder|
|1 tsp sugar|
|1 tsp salt|
|1/2 tsp baking soda|
- Heat oven to 450 degrees.
- Grease a 10 inch cast iron skillet.
- Add all ingredients to a large bowl, and mix until well combined.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until top is sightly browned.
