Smoked Trout Green Apple and Gouda Sandwich
Ingredients
1 tbs mayonnaise | ||
2 slices pumpernickel bread | ||
2 ozs smoked trout, flaked | ||
1 oz aged Gouda cheese, cut into thin slices | ||
1/2 granny smith apple, cored and cut into thin slices | ||
a few leaves of arugula | ||
kosher salt and black pepper to taste |
- To assemble the sandwich, spread the mayonnaise on one side of both pieces of bread.
- Mound the trout on one of the bread slices, then top with the Gouda, apple and arugula.
- Season with salt and pepper, then top with the other slice of bread.
- Recipe may be multiplied as desired.
