Spicy Harissa Hummus

  • 2 (15 oz) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbs tahini
  • 2 plus tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbs harissa spice blend (available in international markets or on line
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • extra olive oil, parsley and cumin for garnish, optional
  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  • Add the chickpeas and all the other ingredients, except for the olive oil into the bowl of a food processor.
  • Whizz until fully combined, while drizzling in the olive oil until the proper smooth consistency is achieved.
  • Garnish with cumin and parsley if desired, along with drizzle of olive oil.
