Eastern Carolina Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
1 gallon vinegar | ||
3/4 cup salt | ||
2 tbs cayenne pepper | ||
3 tbs dried red pepper flakes | ||
1/2 cup molasses or 1 cup brown sugar |
Eastern Carolina barbecue sauce does not use tomatoes and is very tart and tangy.
- Combine all ingredients.
- Allow to stand for several hours.
- Serve as a table or basting sauce.
- Recipe may be halved.
