Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Ingredients
6 slices of Italian bread, thinly sliced, crusts removed | ||
1 cup milk | ||
1 cup milk | ||
1 (8oz) jar of roasted red peppers | ||
1 cup flour | ||
1 egg beaten | ||
olive oil |
- Soak the bread in the milk briefly. Do not over soak.
- Place 1 slice of cheese on top of each bread slice, then several roasted red peppers.Then add a slice of bread to the top.
- Dip each bread slice gently into the flour, then into the beaten egg.
- Put 3/4 inch of oil in a heavy saute pan and using medium high heat.
- Cook the sandwiches until they are golden brown on each side, turning once.
