Never Fail Pie Crust

  • 4 cups four, sifted
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 and 3/4 cups shortening
This is a great flaky pie crust which is great for pies and quiches as well.

  • Sift flour and salt into a large bowl.
  • Beat the egg and combine with vinegar and water.
  • Cut shortening into flour then sprinkle with the egg mixture and mix together.
  • Gather the dough into a ball, then wrap into plastic wrap and chill for about 30 minutes before using.
