Enchilada Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup corn oil
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tbs kosher salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbs cumin
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 and quarts of water
  • 2 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1/3 cup chili powder
  • Heat oil and blend in the flour and stir for several minutes until the flour is well incorporated.
  • Stir and cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Add in all other ingredients and mix well.
  • Simmer for about 30 minutes then taste for seasoning.
