Cast Iron Buttermilk Corn Bread
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups cornmeal | ||
1/2 cup flour | ||
1/4 cup vegetable oil or shortening | ||
1 1/2 cups buttermmilk | ||
2 tsp baking powder | ||
1 tsp sugar | ||
1 tsp salt | ||
1/2 tsp baking soda | ||
2 eggs |
- Heat oven to 450 degrees.
- Grease a 10 inch cast iron skillet.
- Add all ingredients to a large bowl, and mix until well combined.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until top is sightly browned.
