Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermmilk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs

 

  • Heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Grease a 10 inch cast iron skillet.
  • Add all ingredients to a large bowl, and mix until well combined.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until top is sightly browned.
