Middle Eastern Lamb Kofta


  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
This is a popular dish served in the middle east, made with grilled ground beef or lamb.


  • In a bowl, mix together the ground lamb, onion egg yolk, oregano and cinnamon.
  • Season with salt  and pepper.
  • Using medium handfuls of the meat mixture,press half of the mixture onto each skewer.
  • The skewers should be about the size of a  hot dog in width.
  • Press meat firmly around skewers, then refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
  • Cook skewers over hot charcoal, turning frequently until desired doneness is achieved. About 10 minutes.
  • Serve with rice.
