Down South Barbecue Basting and Dipping Sauce


  • 1 gallon of water
  • 1 and 2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp MSG
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 2 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 and 2/3 cup vinegar
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbs red pepper flakes
  • Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and use to baste meat while cooking.
  • Use the rest as a dip for pork, beef or chicken.
  • Recipe may be halved.
