Spicy Grilled Asparagus

  • 2 lbs asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tsp lemon zest
  • lemon wedges for garnish
  • bacon bits optionl
  • Preheat grill to l medium high heat.
  • Remove the tough ends of the asparagus, then toss the spears in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, lemon zest and red pepper flakes.
  • Grill asparagus, turning occasionally, 5-8 minutes or until crisp tender.
  • Transfer asparagus to a serving tray.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges if desired and bacon bits if desired.
