Classic Seafood Breading
- 3/4 cup yellow corn meal (we like Indian Head)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 and 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp red pepper
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
There is no need to purchase pre-packaged seafood breading. It is super simple to make, it costs 75% less and is 100% better. This recipe may be doubled or tripled depending on how much seafood you are frying.
- Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well.
- When breading seafood, dip into water then into corn meal mixture.
- Remove excess then fry seafood in 350 degree oil for 3 to 4 minutes.
