Chesapeake Bay Fried Soft Shell Crabs

Ingredients

  • 12 soft shell crabs, cleaned
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • canola oil for frying
  • Mix together the flour, salt, pepper, old bay and baking powder.
  • Dredge crabs in the flour mixture to coat well.
  • In a large frying pan, heat about 1/2 inch of oil to 375 degrees.
  • Add the crabs and turn heat down to 350.
  • Cook crabs until browned, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
