Cornmeal Waffles
Ingredients
3 and 1/2 cups ap flour | ||
2 and 1/2 cups cornmeal | ||
2 tbs baking powder | ||
2 tsp sugar | ||
4 cups milk | ||
6 tbs vegetable oil | ||
4 large eggs | ||
1 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional) |
You may serve these waffles topped with savory ingredients or if you are going to serve them with syrup, add 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract to the batter.
- In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients, then add the milk, oil and eggs and mix well.
- Pour the batter onto a hot waffle iron and cook according to the waffle irons instructions.
- Set on a plate or in a warm oven and serve as desired.
- Makes about 14 waffles.
