Sweet and Spicy Honey Chili
Ingredients
2 lbs ground chuck | ||
1 cup chopped onion | ||
2 coves garlic chopped | ||
1 (14.5oz) of diced tomatoes | ||
1 (4oz) can of diced green chilies | ||
1 tbs chili powder | ||
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced | ||
1 (15oz) can kidney or chili beans | ||
2 tsp cumin | ||
2 tsp thyme | ||
2 tsp kosher salt | ||
black pepper to taste | ||
1 tsp cinnamon | ||
1/2 cup honey |
- In a large sauce pan brown the ground beef with a little oil.
- Add the garlic, onions and green red peppers. Continue cooking using medium heat until onions are translucent.
- Drain grease from pan.
- Add the tomatoes, chili peppers, beans and spices. Using medium heat mix well with a wooden spoon for about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the honey and stir well. Let simmer for 45 minutes using low heat.
