Sweet and Spicy Honey Chili
|2 lbs ground chuck|
|1 cup chopped onion|
|2 coves garlic chopped|
|1 (14.5oz) of diced tomatoes|
|1 (4oz) can of diced green chilies|
|1 tbs chili powder|
|1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced|
|1 (15oz) can kidney or chili beans|
|2 tsp cumin|
|2 tsp thyme|
|2 tsp kosher salt|
|black pepper to taste|
|1 tsp cinnamon|
|1/2 cup honey|
- In a large sauce pan brown the ground beef with a little oil.
- Add the garlic, onions and green red peppers. Continue cooking using medium heat until onions are translucent.
- Drain grease from pan.
- Add the tomatoes, chili peppers, beans and spices. Using medium heat mix well with a wooden spoon for about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the honey and stir well. Let simmer for 45 minutes using low heat.
