Italian Herb Butter

  • 2 cups fresh basil
  • 2/3 cup fresh chives
  • 1/3 cup fresh oregano
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2-4 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt and black pepper to taste
This is an Italian compound butter flavored with basil, chives, oregano, Italian parsley, garlic and olive oil. You can use it to flavor almost anything. Add to soups and pasta  sauces or paint over fish, meat or chicken when grilling.

  • Add all ingredients to a food  processor.
  • Blend until you reach a consistency of pesto.
  • Freeze in small containers until ready to use.
